The other possibility, depending on the context in which it was used, could be -"Same to you, buddy (pal)"

Depending on the tone of voice, it can be real sarcastic and rude...
Papiamentu.. the word means speaking, has Italian, Yiddish, Greek, Portuguese, French, etc in it. It is still an evolving language and one of the few patois still used in the Caribbean that is being taught in the schools. It actually was devised by the slaves that were held in the Cape Verde island before being transported to the islands. It is widely spoken in all levels especially in the daily business transactions.

papiamentu is really considered an evolving language.. and consists of influences of several languages and there is a controversy as to whether it is Spanish or Portuguese based. .. as far as the African influence it is reflected in the structure of the language rather as to the vocabulary where few actual words can be linked to Africa. .put simply papiamentu represents a mix of influences, the vocabulary is primarily Iberian in origin with a lesser infusion of dutch words...and the west African Bantu.. the south American Indian contribution is mostly limited to place names, flora and fauna. There is a great book available "The Story of Papiamentu" by the University Press of America which studies the language in depth. in regard to the use of sua .. it is usually limited to indicate brother-in-law- and a word only used by men ... men usually use the word jabi to one another... confusing isn't it!
