Hi, I'm down here visiting a friend and had the pleasure of getting mugged last night on my walk back to my hotel...I was able to secure a new credit card number as well as a faxed birth certificate and really wanted to rent a car and was wondering if anyone might be sympathetic to my plight...Might anyone have any help for this lowly traveler??

Also, was the police involved? And if so was a police report made out?

I was just wondering if I might be able to find a car rental place that would accept a e-copy of my birth certificate and my cc number as I've lost everything else (except my passport)...
