This is our 5th trip to Bonaire but have never had such a difficult time trying to decide on what style of vehicle to rent.
We will be doing lots of shore diving and we use to always rent a van and never had a problem, but to us it seems that many of the rental agencies don't offer vans now.

We will be using insurance that our CC provides, but they will not cover trucks (already spoke to them).

So, we would like to know what other vehicles would work that are not really pricey.
We do realize we'll have to rent a truck for a couple days to do the Park.

Any suggestions on type of car with higher clearance and are we correct that there are fewer vans and why?

I'm not sure if they are still available but the Suzuki Swift (little SUV) we had a few years ago had plenty of room for two divers and went where we needed it to go.

Have you tried Everett's?

I've been using Everts and getting a small van for several years now. Great for diving, and have taken it to the Park several times. I love dealing with Everts -- the owner, Ilka, is a Bonairean lady and runs a great operation.

Thank you for the suggestions. We have decided to go with Telerin, and the owner,Poppy, has been so friendly and helpful!

Orlando at Bonaire motorcycle shop is always very friendly. Don't know if he has vans. If you like patronizing locals, this is a good place, and a good deal.

Had a little trouble with Telerin. Trucks were old and we had to switch out 3 trucks in two days. Poppy is the best!!!!! Wish the trucks were the same.
AB has new trucks....no problems.
