sometime last year someone posted comments on here about the high prices they were charged at rose inn. i just wanted to comment that we ate there today and thought the prices were reasonable. there were seven of us so we had seven meals and a bunch of beer (12-15 at least for the group). the total bill was about $100 US. the meals were $12 each and the beers were in the $1.50-2.00 range depending if we had amstels or brites. so the food totaled $84 and the drinks added $15-18. tip was not included so we added that on.

i didn't think the bill was unreasonable at all and the food was great.

The Rose Inn is a great place but there are other places in Rincon that are just as good, just as welcoming & have more of a local flava.

One of my favourites is Kos Bon So. Great food, cold beer, great staff & great prices!

where are the other places to go in Rincon? are they pretty obvious to get to? always seem to miss the turn off from kapata and end up in rincon or is that a plan :-) ???

Bob.

As you come in to Rincon, there is a place on the right called Le Ma Se. Although they don't serve food, it is a great place to stop for a cold drink & an ice cream. The owner (Norman) is a great guy.

If you take the road to the Rose Inn, you will see Kos Bon So on the left. You may also want to check out the Polar Bar (also known as Sisys Bar). I don't think that they really advertise food but you may get lucky.

Four of us went in one night, drank a silly amount & ate. There was a choice of Chicken, Beef & Pork so we had a lot of everything. The bill came to Naf 100.

There is also a little shop diagonally opposite Sisys that has a few provision. It is run by a lady who's name I forget. In her humble shop, she makes the most superb Johnny Cakes.

It's always worth parking up & having a stroll around.

Antony - your comments have convinced me that I'm going to make sure I get out and explore Rincon when I go back in June. Up to this point, I've only ever driven through or stopped at Rose Inn for lunch. Definitely seems like there is much more to enjoy up there.

Re: pricing at Rose Inn. Ate there in mid-January. Two people, two fish specials (way, way, way too much food for lunch :)), four beers, two sodas and a coffee. Less than $40, including a generous tip. Seemed quite reasonable to me.

on the moment the Polar Bar is closed .. change of management .. and renovations .. another good local restaurant is Verona's and good Chinese snacks and ice cold beer at Fu-kee snack .. all within a block of each other near the fire station..
