Hi All!

We are getting VERY excited for our honeymoon trip to Bonaire. I've been doing all sorts of research on here about dining, places to snorkel, etc.. but one thing eludes me. Is there, in fact, espresso on Bonaire, and if so- who makes the best cappuccino? I'm a Cap FREAK, and it would be lovely to have some while I am there.

Also- I have not found too many mentions of good places to eat in Rincon. Any suggestions? We like to go off the beaten path on our trips, and I'm sure we will be going through there. (I saw, with sadness, the thread about the ice cream shop closing..) -Jenny

CONGRATS..what a lovely place to start your new life!

I enjoy Rose Inn but last time I was there, the owner was ill and not on island. I hope he is better. Their hours and food availability is often not consistent..either that or I come the wrong time.

I also love Sjoni Grill Garden on the road to Lourdes Grotto. It used to have a dine in area but might be take out only.

Ann

I can tell you that the coffee at Cozzolinis is made with a very nice espresso machine and you get a good head of crema in a regular coffe.

Jenny...be certain to pick up some Dewey Egbert's coffee while you are on Bonaire. It comes in from Holland and is super strong and has a great flavor, too. I buy it and freeze it and bring it back to the US so I have some all year round.

What a nice place to honeymoon....Bonaire! We are snorkelers and just can't get enough of her waters and fish/marine life. YOu will fall in love with her land critters and people, too. Congrats! Carole

Carole, thanks for the suggestion. Where exactly can you get Egbert's coffee? Thanks.

Douwe Egberts coffee is available at Tropical Flamingo. Blue pkg is decafe, red is regular quality (perfectly fine), silver is higher quality (my personal favorite) & gold is deluxe (and the strongest, in my opinion).

I believe you can pick it up at Cultimara's foodstore in town and at the Warehouse on Kaya Industria down by the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort casino parking lot entrance. It is kick your butt stuff! One cup will set you into high gear for the day. While Joe and I were in Grand Cayman in 1999 we ordered some coffee for breakfast and when I sipped it I knew I had found something special...asked the waiter what it was, assuming it was Columbian or something along those lines. He then told me it was Douwe Egberts and he gave me the low down on the coffee. Susan from Bonbini divers was kind enough to bring some to the US for me a few months later and I have been hooked ever since! I bring back tons of it from Bonaire and freeze it so I have my supply for the year. I give it to friends here in NJ, as well, and I have to "Warn" them to go easy with it if they are not used to very, very strong (and great) coffee.

Try it when you get there....I think you will be pleased. The prices on Bonaire for this are very, very reasonable, too. NOT like the high prices we pay for good coffee in the US.

Let me know if you are able to find it and how you like it.

Cappucinos are on the island, too. I do enjoy them after a meal in a restaurant. The Douwe Egbert's is for the timeshare room. Ayo. Carolecoffee

Jenny,

There actually is a bar that serves excellent coffee, right in front of Zeezicht, just continue past Karels Beach Bar on the pier, and you'll enjoy your cappuccino in the best of settings, right on the waterfront!
