Foundation Animal Welfare Bonaire is a not for profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals on Bonaire. Our primary focus is on education regarding proper animal care and the importance of respect for all creatures. Hey Alex... what can any of us do to help FAW out?

Like most non-profits, our biggest need is of course $$ . Donations can be made through Support Bonaire, or sent to us directly. There are details on the donations page of the website.

We currently have a lot of printing expenses. We have published a "how to care for your dog' pamphlet in Papiamentu, Spanish, English and Dutch. We are working on another pamphlet on the importance of sterilization (which we also plan to hold meetings on in the local community centers) and also one on parvo--a big problem here on Bonaire. We are also hoping to buy a 'party tent' and tables to use at festivals--we've recently had a booth at Dia di Boneiru and at Bonaire Regatta. We've found that these are great opportunities to meet the public and distribute information on animal welfare issues.

Of course anyone on island who would like to volunteer should feel free to email me. And I will of course post when and as specific needs come up.
