Based on the number of e-mails we've received from people who have not received their passwords after they have registered, we have changed the registration process for new users.

From now on, new registrations will be issued their password on the Web page confirming receipt of the registration. And, a copy of this registration information will also be e-mailed.

Since new users will instantly receive their password, they can post new messages right then and there as well.

We've had a couple of reports regarding some confusion about how to post messages in the InfoBonaire Newsgroup.

First, in order to post any messages on the newsgroup, you must be registered to do so. Registration is a simple multi-part process:

1) You register via either the New User Registration button on the Newsgroup Home Page, or via the Instant Registration button on the User Profile page.

2) When registering for a new account, you are prompted for a desired username (you later use this name to submit posts to the newsgroup), your full name, and your e-mail address (make sure you enter your address correctly!). Enter all this information and click on the Continue Registration button.

3) You see a welcome screen, with some VERY important information at the bottom. This information tells you that your initial password (which you need to post, edit your profile, etc.) is being e-mailed to you at the address you specifed during step #2 above. In most cases, you should see the e-mail in you in-box within a minute or two at most. If after a few hours, you haven't received it, please contact us at moderator@infobonaire.com, and we'll e-mail you a new password to sign in with (as well as verify that all your information was entered correctly).

Okay, so by now you're asking, why did we bother with registration? Well, it's because our newsgroup software has some very cool features, including the ability to send you e-mail whenever someone replies to your posts (even if you post anonymously).

You can even configure your account to get e-mail notification of any new messages posted in the newsgroup. If you don't want that much e-mail, but still want to see what's going on, the registration allows you to use the New Messages option on the tool bar to see what new messages have been posted since the last time you looked.

Of course, the registration process also provides a valuable tool in controlling people from Spamming the newsgroups because they can't do so without leaving a trail, and that's to everyone's benefit.

If you have any further questions or problems with the registration process, please e-mail us!
