We just got back from our third trip in three years. Did some amazing dives and saw some great things.
We stayed at Happy Holiday Homes. I was hoping for the internet but it had issues. Lucky Chat and Browse was there. HHH was a great place to stay nice size apartment, quiet, security, and helpful people. Car rental was from AB first time with them, truck was a interesting vehicle, the rust was all over, the bumper even fell off. We ended up zip tieing it on. Will always bring zip ties from now on. I was very please to see police presence all over the island. In fact as we finished up a dive at Andrea I there was a couple of police officers looking over our truck. We didn't think anything was stolen but apparently someone needed a snack pretty bad because we were missing an apple and some pringles.
Notable Dives:
Hilma always a favorite saw toothly the barracuda.
Karpata was just a walk in. Lovely saw a manta ray in the distance.
Oil slick always fun octopus
Salt City, we swam over to the second reef for the first time. That was great loved the garden eels on the way accross.
Baby peach was okay.
Both Andreas were great as well.
THis was a nothern dive trip the southern dives were murky becuase of the rain.
We saw too many lion fish. Two at Oil slick, three Andrea II, 1 karpata, and 2 at Olo.
We ate at Bobby Jans (Amazing) Karls (always fun) and Buddy Dive during the rum party.
The worst part of the trip was the trip down and back. We just waited too long for the tickets and got lousy connections. Oh well learned a lesson with that.
Michael at Chat and Browse is great. Loved talking with him. We were happy to bring down the Edamene for him.
We are already planning for our next Bonaire trip next December.

Thanks Robert for your report. Refreshing to hear that they've beefed up the police presence at some of the dive sites! Many of us have been clamoring about this for a long time!
And yes, at least for us, traveling is by far the worse part of the Bonaire experience.
